Objective:

The student project competition offers an opportunity for students to work on an actual industrial case and propose resolution. This allows them to gain experience of resolving an industrial problem.

Eligibility:

University students in Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality or related disciplines.

Each University can nominate a maximum of eight students, with three to four students in a team, and one staff to provide coaching.

Program Details:

6 February 2010 (Afternoon) ¡V Briefing session of the program, Industrial cases will be assigned to the teams. Venue: TBD

5 March 2010 (whole day) ¡V Visit the factory of Techworld in Dogguan to observe the actual operations and constraints. Details to be advised.

25 March 2010 - Deadline for each team to submit to HKSQ:
(a) a report in about 2,500 words proposing a solution of the problem, and
(b) the presentation file.

27 March 2010 (13:30-18:00) ¡V Project Presentation. Venue: TBD

Each team has to give a 20-minute presentation to the Judging Panel, and take questions from the judges.

The Judging Panel consists of representatives from Techworld and Hong Kong Society for Quality

Approach, Effectiveness and Practical Applicability

Prizes:

The Champion team and teams of the Runners-up will receive award sponsored by Techworld Industrial Ltd

Each participant will receive a certificate from HKSQ
