Certified Quality Engineer CQE (HKSQ) Registration

Who are eligible

Individuals who have fulfilled HKSQ requirements stated herein, and are members of HKSQ in good standing, are eligible to apply for registration.

On approval of the registration, a certificate will be issued to applicant and the registration needs to be re-certified on a tri-annual basis.


How to be certified

(A)       By successful completion of the Certified Quality Engineer Course offered by HKSQ

Individual who had, in previous 2 years, attended the Certified Quality Engineer training course organized or co-organized by HKSQ and passed the examination, can apply for registration as Certified Quality Engineer (HKSQ).

(B)       By Exemption

Individual who had, in previous 2 years, successfully completed a university program in the quality discipline which is accredited by HKSQ's Accreditation Board can apply for registration as Certified Quality Engineer (HKSQ).

In both cases (A) and (B) above, the applicant has to be a member of the HKSQ in good standing when he/she applies for certification registration.

A HKSQ Certificate will be awarded to successful applicants and they will be automatically registered for 3 years as Certified Quality Engineer (HKSQ), or CQE (HKSQ) in abbreviation, and their names will be listed on HKSQ's website provided that he/she is a member of HKSQ in good standing.

How to be re-certified

Certified Quality Engineer (HKSQ) whose registration will expire in 6 months' time can apply for re-certification. In order to be re-certified, such applicants must (1) accumulate 12 continuing professional development (CPD) units in the past 3 years, and (2) be members of the Society for the past 3 years.

A CQE (HKSQ) who is not re-certified 6 months after the expiration date of the registration will be de-registered. Applications for reinstatement of the qualification are regarded as new applications for registration.

HKSQ members registered as Certified Quality Engineer under this scheme will be listed on HKSQ's website.


Fees

The fees for certification and re-certification are subject to review by HKSQ from time to time.

(A) Certification Fee

  • Those who had, in previous 2 years, attended the Certified Quality Engineer training course organized or co-organized by HKSQ and passed the examination - free of charge

  • Others - HKD 750 per application

    (B) Re-certification Fee

          HKD 600 per application
